Tips and strategies for time trials and wars

when wheelying, take time to allign yourself before lifting front wheel, then do not steer to the side as you lose quite a bit of speed by doing so

when going over small jumps such as those on GBA bowser castle3, trick to the side, and hold up on analogue or tilt wii wheel forward for a much shorter lag time in the air, you will land straight away

A strategy suggested by Lars, when the blue shell indicator shows, try and brake infront of a boost zipper, then drive over the booster just as the blue shell hovers over your head

an advanced version of the short jump, much harder and can only be done on GBA bc3, as you turn the corner to get to the string of islands about half way through the track, hold your manual turbo until just before the first jump, then, while boosting, press R (classic controller) or B (wii wheel) just as your going over the jump, don't forget to trick though or you will fall into the lava. This cannot be done on the third jump because the gap is too large to cross with mini hop, but can be used on jumps 1,2 and 4

Whenever you come across a ramp where you can do a trick, try to do a low jump. If you don't know how to do a low jump, you have to time your jump just right so you jump before you come of the ramp. Depending on how good the timing of the jump is, the lower you may go.
